Be sure there is a check in the "No Background" box. If you keep seeing a white background (the default background color) it might be easiest to go to File -> New and create a new layout. Assuming your object is not square, you should see a checkerboard background (again, assuming no background fill color is selected). This can be set on a "transparent" background by either deleting the original image completely, and you will see a checkerboard background (assuming you have no fill set for the background) or copying the new object (CTRL +C) and going to File -> New From Clipboard. ![]() It will appear that nothing has happend when you do this, but if you click on the item and drag it around, you will see it is a copy of only the parts that were masked.
